What began as a solo project became the band we now know as Hetroertzen when guitarist Askväder joined in 1999. After a long break, the band reunited in 2009 and released the album "Exaltation Of Wisdom" shortly afterwards. The album reflected the band's strong inclination towards topics such as occult knowledge, gnosticism and illumination.

After the first European tours, Hetroertzen released the long-awaited, unique album "Ain Soph Aur" in 2014 and attracted worldwide media attention. With the album they released a purely dark, occult, hypnotic black death metal album mixed with the almighty tenor voice of Deacon D.. The positive response to the album opened the doors for the band to North America for the first time, where they toured shortly after the release.

"Uprising of the Fallen", the band's long-anticipated new album, will completely redefine the genre and blow fans of the genre away. Furthermore, the band described the macabre cover of "Uprising of the Fallen": "The cover depicts a faceless angel. Fallen, unfaithful, angry. The angel holds a sword of relentlessness and wears chains of mercy. The beast has been freed and a new kingdom is rising from the ruins. The concept is inspired by the Revelation of John or the 'Apocalypse', the last book of the New Testament, and refers to the Fallen Star that is to rid the earth of filth and bring a new reign to power."
