After the respected label Arctic Rodeo Recordings had already released various side and follow-up projects associated with the band Jawbox, such as Burning Airlines, Channels, Office of Future Plans, Camorra, Report Suspicious Activity, Foxhall Stacks, and New Freedom Sound, and had even released a live recording from the Metro Club in Chicago in 2022, the co-founders of emopunk, who had albums released on renowned labels like Dischord, Touch & Go, and Atlantic, are now returning with an EP that signals their increased activity and suggests they'll be making more regular appearances in the near future. "The Reasonist" features two Jawbox classics, "Grip" and "Consolation" (both from the 1991 album "Grippe"), and a revised version of the Wire song "Lowdown" as a cover.
