With the opener alone, VERSUS YOU once again demonstrate their keen sense for big melodies and catchy hooklines. There's really no reason not to find this band amazing.

It’s no surprise that VERSUS YOU have already supported just about every (punk) band you can think of—NOFX, ALKALINE TRIO, NO USE FOR A NAME, JIMMY EAT WORLD, PROPAGANDHI, and many more. But VERSUS YOU should have long surpassed the status of a good support band, and perhaps this album will help them step out from the shadows of the 'greats.'

Whatever associations one might make between VERSUS YOU's music and other bands, it’s still VERSUS YOU who clearly have enough potential and distinctiveness to cast their own shadow over other bands, and 'Marathon' could very well contribute to that.
