WIRE LOVE from Münster already graced the label and listeners back in their days as Orbit the Earth—and naturally, some parallels remain. Yet with their debut as Wire Love, the band takes things several steps further. On one hand, they deliver hard-hitting, at times groovy, yet technically intricate post-hardcore, which in its most intense moments recalls the almighty Botch, These Arms Are Snakes, Majority Rule, or Jungbluth and Converge—without ever descending into chaos.

But WIRE LOVE aren’t just about punching you in the face. True to post-hardcore tradition, they venture into playful and atmospheric passages, and aren’t afraid to take a detour toward stadium-sized rock moments. That might sound gimmicky at first, but it works flawlessly thanks to their brilliant songwriting, leaving a big grin on my face at their skillful madness.

On top of that, this record easily boasts one of the fattest sounds you can currently get from a German band. It’s no secret that the folks at Tonmeisterei know their craft—but here, especially the drums and bass hit so hard that this album is worth hearing for that alone.
