Boom there it it: The fourth album of the Kiel punk / hardcore quality guarantors is finally released as a vinyl LP (random vinyl color, printed inlay, download code) on Gunner
The quintet Affenmesserkampf has nothing less than an excellent reputation in the local punk and hardcore scene. Having been active for 17 years and with three euphorically received albums behind them, the musicians involved have also left their mark in other local bands such as Tackleberry and Die Bullen. A proud seven years have passed since the congenial smash hit "Clowns In Wut - Ein Deutsches Herz Hat Aufgehört Zu Schlagen IV", and in 2024 the crew around singer Hannes present 15 new songs, whose titles ("Selbsthassselbsthilfegruppe", "Leb So, Dass Es Niemand Wissen Will", "Volksaustausch Jetzt!") already sound more than promising.
The Kiel band have mastered their craft, combining rough punk rock, old-school HC, post-punk and a raw but balanced sound into compact songs with a spicy brevity. Burning current social, societal and political catastrophes are dealt with in the lyrics in an unpathetic yet angry way, half of the Kiel scene (Jott Gäde, Kocky and many others) were present in the studio with guest contributions, and "Förde Runs Red" has - as expected - become the genre milestone that nobody expected. An absolute must!
