"Wait, who the hell is this again?" – At some point, somewhere, someone in some bar misheard "Akne Kid Joe" while "Cats in the Cradle" by Ugly Kid Joe was playing. Quick laugh, "cool band name!" – but by now, it’s only half as funny. Because AKJ have gotten serious. They’re playing sus and 7 chords, isotonic wheat beer is on their hospitality rider – and honestly? That’s SO not punk! Turns out punk really was just a phase. Mom always knew it.

Akne Kid Joe (yeah, the punk band with the cool name) kind of sound like the Pixies used to back in the day. Or at least that’s what the guy from Dog Eat Dog said. And everyone in the band thought, "cool!" – even though half of them only knew "Where Is My Mind?". Doesn’t matter. Fight Club is still an awesome movie! (And Doolittle is a massive album – or so claims the Pixies-loving half).
