Calling Between Bodies a hidden gem of the European punk/indie scene would by now be a serious understatement. After their debut album Electric Sleep (2022), the band quickly became a hot topic among those who have a soft spot for melodic, driving, emotional punk rock with a strong DIY spirit.

By 2025 at the latest, when the band—whose members are based in Cologne, Toronto, and Paderborn—supported established acts like Touché Amoré, The Get Up Kids, The Hotelier, and Captain Planet in sold-out clubs, appeared at numerous scene festivals, and significantly expanded their audience, Between Bodies had firmly established themselves as one of the most exciting up-and-coming punk bands in Germany.

The songs and lyrics of the band, founded in late 2019, are often said to have international appeal—and in this case, the claim truly holds up—evoking favorites like Joyce Manor, The Menzingers, and Tigers Jaw. Their sound also recalls classic ’90s emo-punk while showing clear influences from 2000s post-punk and indie—yet it carries plenty of character and a wealth of ideas that make Between Bodies an exceptional band.
