The band was founded by Ernie Parada of Token Entry and Rob Vitale of Nine Lives. Later, Brian on bass from Token Entry and Nick on drums, who was new to music, were also added. Stylistically, Black Train Jack is reminiscent of Agnostic Front and Murphy's Law, but with a better ear for melodies. In 1993, they released their debut album "No Reward" on Roadrunner, an album full of energy and adrenaline, a burst of surprisingly melodic vocal declarations supported by buzzing guitars.
