and I thought that the gang would all be retired and then the email flutters into the house: Peeps from Surf Nazis Must Die, Herpes, Heat... wild number, bang on and impetuous... Now, a few months later, people are gone and new ones there and things work. Nothing has changed in the sound, the energetic quartet continues to deliver extremely driving upbeat post-punk or No Future sound. You hear some Parquett Courts, some Uranium Club, some Dischord sound and 70s punk - cutting guitars, thumping bass and 16th-driven drums - hectic, rhythmic, pushing, sometimes hypnotically repetitive. And above all the scratchy singing of Florian Pühs, who sings about all those big city/small town/youth/crazy things that sometimes seem very familiar and sometimes very unknown. There will definitely be answers to some of life's important questions - or do you know what Hüsker Dü would do? Or what's going on with Dennis Rodman, why the elevator shouldn't take you down or what are the highs and low points in the life of an elevator boy?
