Fabrik Fabrik brings together members of Nervöus, Henry Fonda, and Bomb Out!, blending a range of musical influences into a cohesive whole. The result is nine tracks that refuse to fit neatly into any category. They don’t fit into the Deutschpunk drawer, were always sitting in the back of the class at the Dischord school, argue too soberly for the Screamo kids, and casually throw some Western twang into the mix. If they fit anywhere, they probably wouldn’t have ended up on Phantom Records. Even though it feels exposed, the cog named Fabrik Fabrik refuses to function with furious clamor. It’s had enough of letting yesterday dictate today.
