Chateau Lala Records
Second album by the Hamburg-based indie rock/post-punk risers is released exclusively on vinyl via Chateau LaLa.
Even with the eleven songs of their debut album "Blüte", Josef Endicott, Antoine Laval, Lars Brunkhorst, and Christian Klindworth caused euphoric reactions among indie fans and the media. Slightly gritty guitar layers at Fluppe come together with a penchant for scenic expression between resignation and longing, unlike hardly any other local band. The drive to dissolve harsh realism into mysterious fantasy worlds is unique.
Fluppe certainly didn't want to simply extend their debut, so the ten new songs are the result of a metamorphosis: a clear step towards pop and accessibility. The music equally touches and bewilders. Faded scenes and vague settings provide themes and emotions that can be further explored while listening - leaving plenty of space for one's own thoughts.
As detailed, shimmering, and enticing as on "Boutique," German indie rock hasn't sounded this captivating in a long time.
