This Charming Man Records
With their debut EP, Fuller prove that it doesn’t take much to make great rock music — just instinct, attitude, and a little courage to strip things down. The setup is classic: drums, bass, guitar, vocals. But what comes out is far more than the sum of its parts.
The songs are short and direct, yet full of subtle details that reveal themselves on closer listening. The band deliberately avoids unnecessary effects and sprawling arrangements, focusing instead on a raw, honest sound that evokes DIY rehearsal rooms and smoke-filled late-summer nights.
Tracks like “Mew” celebrate the simple pleasures of life, while “The Nix” dives into themes of personal loss with melancholy and reflection — without ever slipping into cliché. It’s this tension between lightness and gravity, between playfulness and introspection, that gives the record its pull.
The guitar often takes on an almost narrative role, while bass and drums provide a solid, unshakable foundation. The EP was produced together with Christian Bethge, whose keen sense for atmosphere and texture adds an extra layer of depth.
Fuller don’t need big stages to make an impression — they’d rather stay in the rehearsal room, where everything sounds real and nothing feels staged. And that’s exactly what makes them stand out.
