To properly tell these stories, he teamed up with producers Gregor Hennig (Studio Nord Bremen) and Valentin Hebel (Monako)—two rather unconventional choices for a punk rocker with a love for acoustic guitars—and in doing so, learned to let go. Not an easy feat for someone for whom DIY – Do It Yourself – is not just a slogan, but part of his DNA.

But ultimately, this uncompromising spirit was channeled into other areas—compositionally. Joe had already unlocked the rehearsal room door for his two collaborators early on, brought them into the process, and together they created a unique universe within shifting coordinates, where the musical atmosphere became an essential part of the storytelling.
