“es ist nie zu spät für frühstück” (“it’s never too late for breakfast”) is the first album by Hamburg-based musician jule. A sentence that sounds so casual you might almost miss how much it contains. Between tiredness and hope, everyday life and overwhelm, jule sings about the moment you keep going even though it’s already noon. About the urge to get up anyway, even when nothing is going the way you planned.

After several singles and her debut EP “Im Regio weinen", whose songs oscillate between uncertainty and anger, the mid-twenties artist is now opening a new chapter: for the first time, with a full band. What once began alone with a guitar has grown. The sound has become bigger, but remains intimate—honest, sometimes tender, sometimes loud.

The eleven songs move between melancholy and new beginnings, between guitar and piano. They deal with relationships on the verge of tipping, with overwhelm, and with the attempt to endure oneself. With the question of what remains when security is missing.

The album was produced and recorded by Alexander Kallenberg at Poolhaus Tonstudio in Hamburg and mastered by Raphael Rasmus (including Captain Planet, Matula, Deutsche Laichen) at Studio Gisela in Mühlheim am Main. The band brings new depth and energy to the songs without taking away the space that jule’s lyrics need.

“es ist nie zu spät für frühstück” is being released on Zeitstrafe and marks more than just a full-length debut for jule: it’s a stock-taking somewhere between exhaustion and beginning. Not an album of optimism, but rather one about the possibility of standing up again at all.
