In the 31st year of their band's history, German thrash metal icons Kreator are releasing what is now their 15th studio album in 2022. "Hate über Alles" is the provocative title of the follow-up to 2017's "Gods Of Violence," which hit number one in the charts here.

Frontman Mille Petrozza on the name: "'Hate over Everything' reflects the time we live in. Everything is loud and aggressive. Social media has changed the way we communicate. It's creating a lot of imbalance. The world can't really be fixed anymore. Life is not harmonious right now, it's disharmonious. That's what the title alludes to." And that's also reflected in the cover artwork by Eliran Kantor, a statement against hate and division.

"Hate Over Everything" is the first studio album with new bassist Frédéric Leclercq, who replaced Christian "Speesy" Giesler in 2019. It was recorded together with producer Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Turnstile) at Hansa Studio in Berlin.

About the music on "Hate Über Alles," Petrozza said, "Musically, I wanted to be a little more tangible and compact. We wanted to write catchy songs that people could celebrate live. In thrash, or metal in general, supposed genre rules are sometimes more important than the quality of the songs. Personally, though, I don't really care about genre, there are only good and bad songs."

Good songs, there are exactly eleven of them on "Hate über Alles", including two with guest appearances, namely by German new wave singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Drangsal and German new wave and goth singer Sofia Portanet.
