With Lucky Now, she presents her most personal and musically mature album to date. The British indie songwriter, known for her honest lyrics and warm guitar sound, explores themes such as queer identity, hope, return, and political awakening. The album was produced by Matthew Simms (Wire, It Hugs Back), giving the sound a new depth — somewhere between 80s twee-pop, jangly guitars, and modern indie vibes.

The songs tell stories of everyday love (“Kitchen II”), summer nights full of hope (“Rabbits”), and the joy of rediscovering oneself (“Middle of the Night”). Things get political on “Circular” and “A Million Broken Hearts,” where Hekt takes a clear stance. Lucky Now is an album about returning — to places, to people, and to oneself.
