The debut album of the new Hamburg project is being released as a vinyl LP — on black 180-gram vinyl in a gatefold sleeve — on the Hamburg label Sterbt Alle Records!

Behind Mahler/Fondermann are two established figures of the Hamburg music scene: Stephan Mahler, a defining figure of punk and the underground since the late 1970s (including Slime, Torpedo Moskau, Angeschissen, Kommando Sonnenmilch, Oma Hans, Belgrad), and Ritchy Fondermann, producer and operator of the K-Klang Studio, known for his work with Rocko Schamoni, Bärchen und die Milchbubies, and Cryssis.

The collaboration arose during the production of Belgrad’s second album “Lysis”, from which the joint project and album “Neu, gebraucht, geliehen & verraucht” (“New, Used, Borrowed & Smoked”) emerged.

The work combines new songs, previously unreleased material, and reinterpretations of older pieces — including “Trauertränen” by Torpedo Moskau. Musically, it moves between punk, post-punk, and atmospheric sounds, with poetic lyrics about love, life, freedom, and death — a multifaceted yet cohesive album from two musicians who have written Hamburg’s musical history.
