Megadeth will say goodbye in early 2026 with one final album. An album simply titled Megadeth — because really, what more is there to say about a record meant to mark the end of four decades as a monolith of thrash metal?

For fans, it will no doubt be a bittersweet farewell to Dave Mustaine and co. But Mustaine himself reminds us to appreciate the fact that Megadeth are stepping away on their own terms — before burning out, before external forces bring things to an end, as we've seen happen to so many other bands.
