"Love Letters" is the new album by Vorarlberg-based artist Philipp Spiegl. With indie rock sounds and emotional lyrics, the singer-songwriter tells stories about his life and his love for that life – with all its struggles and obstacles.

Following "Be My Redeemer", "Love Letters" is Spiegl's second album. In some ways, it picks up where its predecessor left off musically, but at the same time, the musician presents a new, more positive side of himself – both lyrically and sonically. Warm guitar licks are a constant presence throughout, as are groovy synth layers. Particularly striking is the recurring use of brass elements, which add exciting accents. Overall, the sound design is very creative and playful. Naturally, Spiegl’s voice remains a central element – sometimes clear, sometimes distorted, yet always present and emotionally engaging. From the very first track, listeners are drawn into the album’s sonic world and held there until the very end. Still, the record never feels claustrophobic; even in its darkest moments, there's a sense of comfort and safety.

Parts of "Love Letters" were written in Trieste – and you can hear it. In some passages, the movement of the sea is almost palpable in the groove. The entire album flows with a kind of positivity that's hard to describe in words. Philipp Spiegl’s deep connection to the Italian city is also immortalized in the opening track, "Trieste."

The twelve tracks on the album explore different facets of life. Spirituality and love play a major role for Spiegl, but he doesn't shy away from taking a political stance either – for example, in the song "Sacred." Overall, the album aims to capture life in all its complexities – its highs and lows. Spiegl draws from his own life experiences, touching on personal tragedies and major turning points just as much as on moments of beauty and joy. The album is, in a sense, twelve love letters to life itself.

"Love Letters" is an album that wants to be understood and experienced as a whole. No song feels randomly placed. In some parts, songs transition seamlessly into one another. There's a clear narrative thread running through the album, and yet with each listen, you discover something new. With "Love Letters", Philipp Spiegl demonstrates how he has grown – both as a musician and as a person.
