Hamburg's Rantanplan, featuring Torben Meissner, Marcus Wiebusch, and Reimer Bustorff, was founded in the fall of 1995, inspired by bands like Operation Ivy and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Their second album, "Köpfer," released in 1998, was unavailable on vinyl for many years.
However, it is now being released as a 25th-anniversary edition on 180-gram mint green colored vinyl. In addition to the smash hits "Ich erinner' mich an alles" and the Funny Van Dannen cover version of "Unbekanntes Pferd" (still the highlight of every Rantanplan show), the album includes a short text by bassist Reimer Bustorff and some photos. "Köpfer" was the band's last album with Wiebusch and Bustorff, who went on to form Kettcar after leaving Rantanplan.
