Gunner Records
Since The Gaslight Anthem’s early days, few bands on Gunner Records have garnered as much acclaim and enthusiastic reviews as Red City Radio.
With The Dangers of Standing Still (2011) and the EP To the Sons & Daughters of Woody Guthrie (2012), they made an outstanding entry into the European scene. Now, with Titles, the band can confidently face their fans' high expectations: the 10 new tracks feel seamless, immediately captivating with their soaring melodies and wonderfully melancholic, gritty vibe.
Just as down-to-earth yet polished in melodic U.S. punk as they are rooted in the raw spirit of mid-90s emo-rock, Garrett Dale (guitar/vocals), Paul Pendley (guitar/vocals), Jonathan Knight (bass/vocals), and Dallas Tidwell (drums/vocals) surpass the catchiness of their previous work. The four-part vocals are stirring and passionate, and they rarely ease off the punk-rock pedal, save for slowly building, goosebump-inducing anthems like Joy Comes with the Morning or I’ll Take a Mile.
With a knack for dynamics, songwriting finesse, and unbridled passion, Titles is not only Red City Radio’s best work to date but also a standout piece of U.S. rock and punk in the spirit of Hot Water Music, The Dillinger Four, and Avail.
