The Roxies are a four-piece punk rock / power pop chimera from Berlin who, following their excellent debut Don’t Wanna Dance Because I’m Told To (released in 2022 on Dirt Cult / Family Spree), now deliver an even smarter new record. Twelve songs that effortlessly fuse ’60s pop, bubblegum vibes, rock ’n’ roll, and ’70s California beach punk into a tightly wound, confident package.

There’s an irresistibly infectious freshness to it all, and the songs are knocked out with such casual ease that standing still simply isn’t an option. The tracks roll in on garage-y guitar licks, pop-leaning harmonies, punchy, groove-driven drumming, and absurdly cool bass hooks. Along the way, things occasionally turn melancholic, but above all the band radiate a musical depth that feels like a collision of The Nerves, Clorox Girls, and the B-52s.
