Album number four took four years to arrive, but it was worth the wait once again. Not much has changed, but was that even necessary? Banjos, synths, and keyboards have quietly sneaked in, but that’s a good thing and adds some variety. The 40 minutes fly by. As always, it takes a bit of time to fully warm up to the album, but by the time "Virtute" comes on—when the guys get a little louder and more intense—that familiar goosebump-inducing atmosphere is back. Giving it a few listens and a chance was definitely worth it. Even the flutes towards the end can’t ruin anything. The band from Winnipeg has done everything right again, melting our hearts, whether we’re holding a glass of red wine or not, and our platonic love for John K. Samson grows once more.
