Thorsten Nagelschmidt (of Muff Potter) hates Christmas – and fled the family hell and holiday depression to an all-inclusive hotel in Gran Canaria, where he spent eleven days watching The Sopranos and writing a book about it.

The result, created in collaboration with Lambert, is the album Nur für Mitglieder ("Members Only") – a work that defies all categorization. Prose jazz? Booktronica!

Spoken-word? There’s too much singing.
Audiobook? Too musical.
Soundtrack? Almost – but not quite.

What Nagelschmidt and Lambert have created is a feverish blend of literature and music, of text, voice, and dense sound collages. Lambert, known for his modern piano artistry, pushes his compositions into glowing, cinematic territories, while Nagelschmidt – author, singer, and Muff Potter guitarist – reads, speaks, sings, and uses his words as another instrument in the mix.

At the core: an escape from Christmas, depression, and hotel madness – condensed into eruptive refrains that belong on T-shirts as anthems.

Nur für Mitglieder recalls Gil Scott-Heron or Blumfeld, but pushes further: music and prose melt into something entirely new – booktronica, spoken-word pop, prose jazz? Whatever you call it, the point is: you’ve never heard anything quite like this.

And live – combining concert, reading, and multimedia – it might be even more powerful.
