Gunner Records
Debut album from the French emo/post-punk quintet, released as vinyl-only on Gunner Records. Hailing from Angers, the band was previously active under the name Wank For Peace from 2008 to 2016 and now shares its new name with a U.S. group. On their ten tracks, they bring together punk, hardcore, and emo with raw intensity — overflowing and rejecting any trace of refinement.
Yet Erosion still leaves plenty of space for melodies and melancholic nuances. Background vocals, dynamic song structures, and strong hooks are all present. Tracks like “A Reasonable Bully,” “That Couldn't Be Less Funny,” “The Ridge Gets Thinner,” or “From Safety To Boredom” don’t reinvent the Fest-punk wheel, but they come across refreshingly lo-fi and unpolished.
