Turbostaat celebrate 25 Years with the Reissue of Their Catalog Through Their Own Label 18Null9.

"The best record in... forever! German punk that can do it all! And to all of you out there throwing around promo clichés like “the missing link between DACKELBLUT and MUFF POTTER” to undermine this band's uniqueness: I’m calling bullshit.

The lyrics? They hit hard, straight from life, from the heart – and yeah, unfortunately, they punch you right in the gut, but that’s exactly what you want, right? Anger, helplessness, resignation, revolution – it’s all in there. Sure, the comparisons to the mentioned bands are spot on, and fans of DACKELBLUT and MUFF POTTER will get their money’s worth.

But instead of harping on “copied/stolen,” we should give the Flensburg guys credit for playing the best German music of all time, while evolving and refining the already great sounds of the past.

So, gentlemen Nagel and Jensen, now it’s your turn to step it up! Maybe a MUFF HANS/OMA POTTER split? But hey, competition is known to fuel the fire and raise the bar. In the meantime, we’ll keep listening to “18:09 Uhr, Mist, verlaufen...” on repeat!"(Ox Fanzine #44 / 2001)
