Fat Wreck Chords
With "First Ditch Effort", NOFX present their long-awaited follow-up to 2012's "Self Entitled" in 2016.
For this, Fat Mike (vocals, electric bass), Eric Melvin (guitar, background vocals), El Hefe (guitar, background vocals) and Erik Sandin (drums, percussion) recorded a total of 13 new songs.
For the first time since "The War on Errorism" (2003), the band did not work with long-term producer Bill Stevenson, but received support from Cameron Webb, who has already worked on the mixing desk for bands like Motörhead, Social Distortion and Pennywise.
A first taste of "First Ditch Effort" was already offered by NOFX with the single "Six Years On Dope", which deals with the band's drug-infused past in just 92 seconds. Another listening impression was made with the song "I Don't Like Me Anymore". It makes it to 2:30 minutes, which is also the average duration of all songs on the album.
Like its various predecessors, "First Ditch Effort" is released on Fat Mike's own label Fat Wreck Chords.
