The fact that the Hamburg-based band possesses a sense of humor was foreseeable, and this is reflected in the clever German lyrics. Musically, the album features driving punk with a pop edge in the best sense. While the comparison to Weezer may not be entirely accurate, you can hear influences of fantastic 80s pop, including German pop from that era – meant as a compliment. The band has a unique sound, too witty for the "Hamburger Schule," too poppy and melting for Turbostaat-style punk. Perhaps fans of Die Ärzte should definitely give it a listen, as Trixsi might be the authentic version for adults who can finally embrace it. It could be one of the surprises of the season!
